A Gift for Our Children

Hey parents, let’s put down the laptop, phone and iPad for a minute and go find one of our kids, look ‘em in the eyes, and say, “You know what, I’m so glad you are my son/daughter.” That’s it. If they ask, “Why?” say, “Just because you are mine.” Not because he is fast or because she is smart. “But Dad, you know that I blow it a lot.” “Yeah, well, so do I. So, remember, I love you because you are mine. I cannot love you more and will not love you less. Did I say how glad that I am that you are my son/daughter?” That may be the greatest gift they receive all day. After all, that is what our Father says to us in the gospel at Christmas, and every day.
