Yesterday, we had an opportunity as a church family to give a special, year-end gift to the minstry of Creekstone in order to “close the gap” on our fiscal need for the Sept.-Dec. quarter, enabling us to enter 2015 “in the black” and with a goal of “particularizing” as a local church apart from our “sending” church, Perimeter. Our giving goal was $40,000. But you gave over $81,300! In addition, you gave $7,700 in regular offerings, brining our one-day total to almost $90,000! This is a truly historic day in life of Creekstone Church—a story of God’s provision that we’ll tell for years to come! Praise be to God for enabling us to give so generously to the advance of the gospel!
Of course, I know that there are folks who were unable to be in attendance yesterday who still want to give toward our Close the Gap campaign. So, we’ll announce the final total this coming Sunday—Christmas Sunday. What a perfect time to celebrate giving—especially God’s giving to us a Savior in the person of Jesus, our sin-bearer and righteousness provider!
The passage that comes to my mind at this hour is Ephesians 3:20-21, verses that our staff and prayer team have been reciting all year : “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” Soli Deo gloria (to God alone be the glory)!
