This Sunday we will be reciting the Apostles’ Creed at the beginning of the service, and ancient statement of faith that believers have professed since the 2nd century. One line in the creed says that Jesus “descended into hell.” If you have ever wondered what that means, we encourage you to check out this helpful insight by the late John Calvin.
Also, the phrase I believe in the “holy, catholic church,” is not referring to the Roman Catholic church, but the universal church that extends beyond national and denominational boundaries.
Note that we will recite the traditional, “King James English” version. It is the one with which most are familiar.
Hope to see you Sunday!
