The Marriage Expedition:

Essential Supplies for the Journey #4 (Part 2)

Introduction/Illustration.  If you we’re to see a car parked in the parking lot with a bow on it, you would know something about that car. It was a ______________.

Main point. The fourth supply is a bag of bows, because love is a ______________, not a reward.

Today is part 2– Last week was the foundation of love. Today is the application of love.

Key Passages: Rom. 6:23; 1 Jn 4:9-11; Jn 3:16; Gal 2:20; Rom 5:8; Lk 6:27-28

How can we gift love to each other in practical ways? Seven Suggestions

  1. _________________ your spouse.
  2. _________________ your spouse.
  3. _________________ your spouse.
  4. _________________ your spouse.
  5. _________________ your spouse.
  6.  Attend _________________ _________________ together.
  7. _________________ with joy for your spouse.

Conclusion. The Robertson McQuilken story…

Dr. McQuilken didn’t just say I love you to his wife, he _________________ it. And that is exactly what Jesus has done for us.

John 4:10-11…

The love of Jesus is the MODEL and the MOTIVE and the POWER….

This means that loving each other in marriage is essentially about _______________each other in marriage. And that is why the marriage journey needs a bag of bows, because love is a __________________.
