By design, marriage is good. By experience, marriage is hard. This is where grace makes all the difference.

Of course, anything worthwhile is both. Good and hard.

They go together more often than you'd think.

  • Improving fitness.
  • Climbing a mountain.
  • Learning a new language.
  • Cooking a gourmet dinner.
  • Earning an advanced degree.
  • Or cultivating a fruitful garden.

Just because something is hard does not mean we should abandon the work that leads to enjoying the fruit of our labor.

But that's what happens in marriage.

Things get hard and we give up too soon. Disappointment feels like revitalizing the dream is too steep of a mountain to climb.

But it's not too steep.

Imagine if you could approach your marriage with renewed excitement and anticipation for what it could be compared to what it is.

For many of us, marriage is good but stagnant. There's no crisis. But you know it can be more.

Imagine the before and after of giving time to cultivate the garden.

What new, ripe, satisfying fruit could grow?

I think you'd be surprised.

The dream of a fruitful marriage is possible.

So don't give up.

Let's get our hands dirty together, starting with a 7-Day Marriage Reboot.

Over 7 days of read-aloud lessons with engaging discussion starters, you'll re-learn the essentials of a healthy, grace-nourished marriage.

At the proverbial end of the day, the 7-Day Marriage Reboot is designed to help you come alive to the wonder of God's grace, not only tethering your own life to the cross, but tethering your marriage to the cross of the risen and reigning Jesus.

Isn't this what every marriage needs?

After 30 years of marriage, my wife, Kristy, and I have traversed the ups and downs that every couple faces over the years.

Having also raised three, now adult children, ages 27, 24, and 19, we've led seminars on marriage and parenting in multiple contexts.

But our teaching is not from a position of expertise. Rather, it's from experience, with many of the lessons learned from making mistakes. But all of it is rooted in the wisdom of God found in the Scriptures.

Our own desire as husband and wife, father and mother, is not to expect perfection but to make progress.

Like sanctification, we want grace to define our lives more and more unto a greater capacity to love well.

This reboot is to help us get on the same page with the goal of progress over perfection. We want the same terminology and definitions so our conversations (including disagreements) can be more fruitful, which requires a shared "marriage language."

While this isn’t a quick fix (as problems usually take time to develop in marriage), if you work through each lesson and discuss the built-in conversation starter questions, you will find yourself on a new path toward holistic marriage renewal.

So, be encouraged and hopeful.

Good things are on the horizon.
